Geophysics into High schools meeting
The BGA are hosting a meeting aimed at Higher Education geophysics educators, Educational Societies/Charities and Geophysics industry representatives. This small one-day event will be hosted at University of Leeds on Friday, May 17 from 9am-5pm, and will be a chance to:
- Discuss ongoing geophysics recruitment trends/issues across higher-education institutions
- Explore recent data collected from teachers, high school and undergraduate students on perceptions of geophysics at high-school level
- Share ongoing geophysics outreach work/resources with others (in posters/talks)
- Contribute to discussions on how to promote geophysics in high-school more effectively going forward
- Network with geophysics educators, educational bodies and industry representatives
While predominantly an in-person event, talks/discussions will be live-streamed for online attendees, who will be able to interact with speakers/discussion groups with typed questions fielded by the conveners.
There is capacity for up to 90 in-person attendees.
BGA Postgraduate Research in Progress Meeting (PGRiP)
The PGRiP meeting is an annual gathering of geophysics PhD students. PGRiP is organised by students, for students. It offers PhD students an opportunity to network and discuss your latest work with your peers in a friendly environment. Whether you are presenting a poster, giving your first talk, or practising for larger conferences, everyone is welcome!
